Book text:
Printmaker Marjan Eggermont's interest lies in the material properties of the plate itself and the potential of various processes. Here she questions the inheritance of landscape traditions: a photographic image of roiling clouds taken from a Dutch painting of the seventeenth century is screened onto the plate with glittering carborundum; below, bands of colour evoke a modernist palette.
